Spring 2026 Updates
There have been some changes at the MN DNR and with the folks we deal with regarding permitting and treatment of the ponds.
We are still working through all of the details and plan to send a letter to all homeowners once we have more information. For now, this is what we know:
Treatment did occur on Hodgson Pond but no signs were placed there, this appears to be a new normal and signs no longer need to be posted there.
Some properties reached out about missing signs, we’ve confirmed with those owners even if the sign was missing, you were still treated.
We had a clerical error on our part and three property permits never made it to the DNR for approval, if you were one of these we will be reaching out to you about next steps.
There were three properties that were denied permitting and, hence, treatment for displaying a ‘lack of recreation’. We are communicating with the DNR about what that means and how it is determined. If you are one of those properties we will be reaching out to you about next steps.
Some properties also had their permit modified in terms of coverage area. That also, was determined by the DNR. We understand that the same amount of chemical treatment was applied, just to a smaller area.
Rakes are still available to borrow to remove dead and decaying vegetation from the ponds. Please click the link above (this is now working again) or email us.
Finally, we are looking for people to be of service and serve on the board. Several positions terms are ending in early 2027 and we would love to see some new faces. These are all volunteer positions and important to keep the ponds healthy. Please use the contact form to reach out for more details.
Happy summer neighbors!
